So pretty - I saw this once years ago on the 4th of July in Duxbury, Massachusetts. It was like wading in a lava lamp.
Blue waves produced by bioluminescent phytoplankton: Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives, Florida Everglades, and Lakshadweep Islands off India.

Clams and other creatures have been discovered at deep-sea around vents near the Mariana Trench, the deepest spot on Earth’s surface, surprising the scientists who found them.Reblogged from: mothernaturenetwork+83 notesoceanlifedeep seaearthscientistcreatures -
18th FebruaryDIY Ocean Waves. Not just for kids because I love this too - very calming like the meditation jars here. This is the closest “recipe” I’ve seen to mimicking the expensive wave machines and the simplest. Tutorial from Lilla a Design. *First seen at Craft Gossip here. *Similar idea - a lava lamp for kids of all ages here.

25th MarchWe have been house hunting for about three solid years. Each one has something just not right.
We went to this house last weekend and walked away without talking to each other for an hour. Inside we were both thinking “this is the one”.
I always thought it was Bullshit when someone said “you’ll know it” regarding houses.
It is a farm house built in the 1800’s with 6 acres of land. Inside the “big” house there are doors that lead to secret staircases and a summer kitchen. A REAL summer kitchen that overlooks mature blueberry bushes.
It sits on marshes that are protected and only a few miles from the ocean.
We made an offer - but might be outbid. Only time will tell if I will be sharing awesome before and after DIY house photos.

9th AprilI am reblogging this due to my fear of sharks. This year I missed out on the first leg of a triathalon, swimming in ocean, due to my deep fear of sharks. I need to get over this!!!
(via ventisette)
1. Don’t swim in the sea
More than 99% of all shark attacks happen in large water masses, also known as oceans. The way to establish if you’re in the ocean is to taste the water. It should taste salty.2. Swim with fat people
Always make sure there are fat people already in the water before you enter. Chances are you will be able to swim faster than them and save yourself.3. Don’t go in the water without a knife.
That’s to stab the nearest swimmer when you see a shark. As soon as he/she bleeds profusely, swim as fast as you can to the shore and claim you tried your best to save him/her. You might end up getting an award for bravery.4. Listen intently
All sharks have a ‘theme song’ - if you hear the following, swim for your life: daa-dam, daa-dam, daa-dam. If it sounds like this: dadam, dadam, dadam, you’re already gone.5. Don’t panic
Stay calm when a shark bites you. It’s over, you’re gone and panicking won’t help you survive. The people on the shore will appreciate it, they don’t want to hear your mad yelling and screaming, it’s not nice. Please think of the children.+363 notessharksfearphobiaswimocean
